The Fénix Democratic Club of San Francisco amplifies the voices of our Latino, Afro-Latino, and Indigenous communities, empowering members to be informed, engaged, and active in the political process. We provide an inclusive space for discussion, organize around issues impacting our communities, and work within the Democratic Party to advance justice, equity, and representation.

Membership should never be limited by financial or immigration status. Individuals who cannot pay dues—regardless of documentation—may request a confidential membership fee waiver. No explanation is required; we simply track which memberships are waived. To request a waiver, email presidents@fenxdems.org.

All members, including those with waived dues, are invited to participate in events, discussions, and initiatives that shape our local Democratic community and advocate for policies that matter to our communities. Everyone is welcome to engage, learn, and help make an impact.

Important Note on Dues and Campaign Contribution Rules

Membership dues are legally considered a political contribution under California law. By paying dues, you certify that you:

• Are a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident,

• Are contributing your own funds,

• Are at least 18 years old,

• Are not a federal contractor, and

• Are using your own personal payment method.

For those who cannot meet these requirements, a membership fee waiver ensures you can still participate fully in the club’s activities and community.
